Nigerians Only Support the Dead – Yul Edochie

Veteran Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has pointed to what he considers to be Nigerians’ hypocritical affinity for commemorating the deceased as the motive behind rapper Oladips’ recent hoax about his demise.

Oladips, previously rumored to have passed away according to his management, has emerged with fresh evidence to confirm he’s alive.

In response, Yul Edochie has urged Nigerians to sustain their enthusiasm for Oladips’ music even after discovering that he is still very much alive. Edochie emphasized that support for the artist should not be contingent on his death.

Expressing his disapproval, Edochie criticized certain Nigerians who he claims revel in commemorating the departed but withhold support for the living out of “jealousy and envy.”

Taking to his Instagram story, Edochie wrote, “What’s up with the guy who faked his death? Are you not eager to make him trend? Why isn’t anyone posting about him? Nobody is sharing his music because he’s still alive. If he were genuinely deceased, you wouldn’t let people rest. Everyone would be posting his pictures and his music.”

He continued, “Supporting the deceased seems to please you more than supporting the living. Support him now that he’s alive; don’t let jealousy and envy hinder you.”
