The Lagos State Police Command have taken action by summoning Chioma Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of actor Mr. Ibu, amid allegations of withdrawing N300 million from the actor’s donation account. The revelation surfaced through actress Doris Ogala’s Instagram post, where she disclosed that Stella Maris, Mr. Ibu’s wife, accused Jasmine of diverting the funds to impede the family from purchasing her a new house. The police are currently conducting an investigation with all parties involved at the Alagbon police station.
Aminat Mayegun, the Police Spokesperson, provided insights into the ongoing investigation, stating, “The police is trying their possible best to charge them to court, but the family are pleading to the police to make a settlement. The matter is still under investigation.”
This development adds a layer of complexity to Mr. Ibu’s widely publicized health challenges, which include multiple surgeries and the subsequent amputation of his leg. Stella Maris had previously claimed that Jasmine mismanaged funds intended for Mr. Ibu’s medical procedures. The ongoing police investigation aims to unravel the facts surrounding the alleged withdrawal, ensuring a fair resolution to the situation.
Doris Ogala, the actress who first brought attention to the matter, expressed skepticism, stating, “So many things are not adding up. There’s more to this.”
This incident unfolds against the backdrop of the public’s generous support for Mr. Ibu, with donations pouring in to aid his recovery. The investigation seeks to shed light on the use of the donated funds and clarify the circumstances surrounding the alleged withdrawal of N300 million from the actor’s account.
