In a bid to address the prevailing security challenges in Nigeria, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas has outlined the commitment of the 10th National Assembly to fortify the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies.

The Speaker conveyed this vision during a two-day post-inauguration retreat for members of the House Committee on Defence, emphasizing the imperative of a collective approach to effectively tackle the nation’s complex security issues.  Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, Mr Musa Krishi, released a statement in Abuja on Saturday, encapsulating Abbas’s call for a comprehensive strategy in addressing national security concerns.

The Speaker stressed the crucial need to enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces and other security agencies.  Abbas underlined the 10th House of Representatives’ commitment to actively support security agencies.

This support would manifest through initiatives such as adequate funding, the provision of modern equipment, comprehensive training programs, and improved welfare packages for security personnel.
