NYSC DG Warns Corps Members Against Misconduct, Stresses Adherence to Byelaws

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has issued a stern warning to corps members, urging them to steer clear of misconduct during their service year. He emphasized the need to adhere to NYSC byelaws and national laws, stating that violators would face appropriate sanctions.

During visits to the NYSC Kano State Orientation Camp in Kusallah Dam Karaye and the Katsina State Orientation Camp, General Ahmed congratulated the corps members on completing their courses and highlighted the importance of proper dressing in NYSC uniforms, noting that improper attire could lead to sanctions.

In his address, he urged corps members to respect the culture and traditions of the communities they serve, emphasizing the NYSC’s intolerance for indiscipline. General Ahmed cautioned against engaging in activities such as hard drugs, hooliganism, cybercrimes, and other social vices that could lead to trouble.

The NYSC Kano State Coordinator, Hajiya Halima Abdulkareem Abubakar, presented a positive camp situation report, commending the corps members for their honesty, dedication, and loyalty to the NYSC. At the Kano camp, a total of 1,734 corps members were registered.

In Katsina, the State Coordinator, Hajiya Aisha Mohammed, highlighted the collaborative effort of 348 camp officials, including NYSC staff and representatives from other agencies. She reported that the corps members, comprising 686 males and 606 females, are enthusiastic and ready to contribute to national development.
