Journalist Narrates Terrifying Encounter with Armed Kidnappers in Abuja

A journalist exposes the horrifying circumstances of being abducted by armed kidnappers in Abuja in a stunning account of a traumatic encounter. The incident occurred while the journalist was on assignment for the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and was ambushed by assailants.

The victim recounts the terrifying moments when the attackers swiftly took control of the situation. The front seat passenger physically restrained the journalist, while another brandished a gun, pressing it against the victim’s forehead. Forced into submission, the journalist was blindfolded, threatened, and robbed of personal belongings, including cash, a laptop, phones, and other valuables.

During the ordeal, the journalist discovered that the kidnappers claimed to be dismissed soldiers who resorted to criminal activities due to the challenging situation in the country. The assailants demanded a ransom, urging the journalist to contact family and friends for money.

Despite the constant threat and coercion, the journalist held firm, maintaining confidence in God and refusing to change their faith even under duress. The kidnappers, moved by the journalist’s resilience and dedication to their faith, eventually decided not to harm them further.

After withdrawing a substantial sum from the journalist’s account, the kidnappers released the victim in an undisclosed location in Abuja. The journalist, although shaken by the traumatic experience, expressed gratitude for surviving the ordeal.
