Following their victories in the recent off-cycle governorship elections, Governors Hope Uzodimma and Douye Diri, alongside Governor-elect Ododo Ahmed Usman, have outlined their commitments to better governance in their second terms.
In his acceptance speech, Ododo expressed his dedication to transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness, stating, “Your trust is a compass guiding us in our commitment to enthroning a transparent, accountable and inclusive governance. As we sail the ship to new frontiers, I am confident that our collective determination will yield positive outcomes for every citizen of our dear state.”
Governor Uzodimma, in his acceptance speech, asserted that his opponents didn’t lose; instead, “the people won.” He thanked the electorate and expressed confidence in achieving positive outcomes collectively.
Governor Diri of Bayelsa State, declared the winner by INEC, promised to continue serving with dedication, integrity, and transparency. He emphasized his commitment to an all-inclusive government, irrespective of political affiliations, stating, “I will be governor for all while serving with dedication, integrity, and transparency.”
The three leaders look forward to their second terms with a focus on improving governance and meeting the expectations of the electorate.
