The spiritual leader and Chairman of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement, Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye, passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 103 in his Ilorin home, the capital of Kwara state. The news of his death was disclosed by the church’s Secretary-General, Special Apostle Ademola Odetundun.
According to Odetundun, Prophet Abidoye had his breakfast and, while preparing for a service, decided to take a rest, passing away peacefully thereafter. Popularly known as Baba Aladura, he played a significant role in the spiritual leadership of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
Baba Aladura was born on June 26 as a Prince in Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State. His father, Odetundun Abegunde, held the title of Oba Olomu of Omu Aran, located in Ilorin Province at the time.
The church’s Secretary-General, Ademola Odetundun, mentioned that details regarding the burial arrangement for the revered spiritual leader would be announced later. The passing of Baba Aladura marks the end of an era, and the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, as well as its followers, mourn the loss of a respected and influential figure in their spiritual community.
