The government of Anambra State through the state Ministry of Women and Social Welfare has looked into the case of a widow, identified as Amarachi Anakor, whose in-laws asked to bury her late husband inside a forest.
The widow made a complain to the ministry of women and social welfare, whose late husband is identified as Chike.
Amarachi had alleged that her father-in-law, Obi, and the brother-in-law, Vincent, had refused to allow her to bury her late husband in the compound, but instead asked that the deceased be buried in the forest.
This development was disclosed to journalists in a press statement issued by Chidinmma Ikeanyionwu, the media aide to the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, on Thursday.
