In the build up of the forthcoming Off-Cycle Governorship polls in Imo, Kogi and Bayelsa states, the Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC ) has deployed 1,500 personnels and 35 vehicles and tow vans to the states in view as part of measures to ensure a seamless governorship polls in the states.
This was contained in a statement by the Deputy Corps Marshal (DCM) Corps Public Officer (CPEO), Bisi Kazeen on November 8, 2023 in Abuja.
The order by the FRSC Corps Marshall, Dauda Biu, was in a bid to build a strong synergy and collaboration with the Nigeria police Force (NPF), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other security agencies to deter vehicular movement.
The elections which are scheduled to hold on November 11, are expected to be a keen contest as all candidates contesting under the various political parties are gearing up for the political gymnastics.
The Corp Marshal has therefore, called on the electorates in the said states to adhere to security regulations as would be announced, while wishing them a free and fair election.
