Kevin Sinfield OBE, known for his contributions to rugby and previous charity work, is embarking on a remarkable journey to raise funds for motor neurone disease (MND) research. The former rugby league player and current defence coach for the England national team will be running seven ultra-marathons in seven days.
Starting on December 1 in Leeds, Sinfield’s marathon challenge will take him to Cardiff, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Dublin, and Brighton, with a final leg in London on December 7. The concluding stage will see him run from Twickenham Stadium to The Mall.
This noble effort is inspired by Sinfield’s deep commitment to supporting MND charities. Since his friend and former Leeds Rhinos teammate, Rob Burrow, was diagnosed with MND in 2019, Sinfield has been actively raising funds and awareness for the cause.
Sinfield’s seven ultra-marathons in seven days represent his fourth fundraiser in the ongoing battle against motor neurone disease. His previous efforts, including the memorable moment when he carried Rob Burrow across a marathon finish line, have already raised millions of pounds for MND charities.
By pushing his physical limits and demonstrating unwavering support for MND research, Sinfield continues to make a significant impact in the fight against this devastating disease.
