A pastor affiliated with the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, identified as Pastor Sunday, was apprehended in the Agbado region of Ogun State for kidnapping a 21-year-old woman named Aliu Blessing and for uttering bogus prophesies. Among the stunning allegations leveled against the pastor are claims that he predicted a sad end for Blessing on her wedding day if she did not participate in sexual intercourse with him. He also threatened any other male who attempted intimacy with her with grave consequences.

Ogun State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, has confirmed these deeply troubling allegations. The horrifying ordeal began when the pastor visited Blessing’s ailing sister in the church, where he reportedly made these false and coercive prophecies.

Tragically, on February 2, 2023, Blessing was abducted by the pastor, who held her captive at an undisclosed location. Her harrowing seven-month ordeal came to an end when she returned home on November 5, 2023, reuniting with her family after months of separation.

Blessing has recounted her traumatic experience, revealing that the pastor initially took her to his family residence in Ilaro before relocating her to a hotel. During her captivity, she endured multiple and non-consensual sexual encounters, leaving her displaying signs of severe mental distress.

Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer, has reported that the victim has been taken to the hospital for a comprehensive medical evaluation, as there are concerns about potential psychological or psychiatric issues resulting from her traumatic experience. The arrested pastor has purportedly confessed to his crimes during police interrogation and is presently in custody. Once the investigation is concluded, he will be charged in court.
