Tragedy Strikes as Seven-Year-Old Boy Falls into Well and Dies in Kwara State

A seven-year-old kid called Abdul-Hayi died after slipping into a residential well in Kwara State. The tragic occurrence occurred in the Yaa-Lateef compound on Tinu Street in Akerebiata, Ilorin East Local Government Area.
The catastrophe occurred around 5:30 p.m. on a fateful Monday while the young child was gathering water. While fetching water from the well, one of his legs slipped and he fell into the well.
On Tuesday, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, the Head of the Department of Media and Publicity of the Kwara State Fire Service, verified the occurrence. Mr. Idowu, a concerned community member, called the fire department to alert them to the issue.
Firefighters reacted quickly to the distress call and successfully recovered the young boy’s lifeless body from the well. They then turned the body over to Mr. Yussuf, a deceased family member.
The State Director of Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, expressed great grief over the tragic tragedy. He urged the general population to be more cautious in their daily activities, particularly around wells and other possible hazards. In addition, Olumuyiwa asked parents and guardians not to send underage children to gather water from residential wells, highlighting the necessity of protecting children’s safety in all circumstances.
