Troops belonging to Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), responsible for maintaining security in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States, have successfully neutralized four suspected bandits and taken 17 others into custody for various criminal activities within their operational zones.
The Media Officer of the operation, Capt. James Oya, disclosed this in an official statement released on Tuesday in Jos. Oya clarified that the arrested suspects were detained in connection with crimes such as kidnapping, murder, violent attacks on communities, and the illegal trafficking of drugs, among other offenses. The suspects were apprehended during a special operation carried out by OPSH troops between October 29 and November 5.
In addition to these arrests, the troops also managed to rescue four individuals who had been kidnapped and prevented six separate attempts to attack vulnerable communities. They responded to 13 distress calls during the specified period.
Major-General Abdusalam Abubakar, the commander of Operation Safe Haven, expressed his gratitude to the residents of Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna states for their support in the collective effort to bolster security within the areas under OPSH’s jurisdiction.
