Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has reassured the youth of the state that he is committed to addressing their concerns and securing a brighter future for them. During the inaugural youth conference held in Awka, Governor Soludo emphasized his administration’s dedication to the welfare of the youth in Anambra State.
He stressed that the “livable and prosperous Anambra agenda” would particularly benefit the youth and urged them to refrain from criminal activities while actively contributing to the state’s peace and development. Governor Soludo emphasized the vital role of planning for the youth’s future and promised to create job opportunities and a conducive environment for their growth.
He announced plans to engage more youth through the “One-Youth-2-Skills” entrepreneurship program and stressed the significance of education, stating that it is a fundamental prerequisite for a promising future. The governor expressed his gratitude to the event organizers and encouraged them to make the conference an annual platform for addressing critical youth-related issues.
Various prominent figures, including the State Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, and Igwe Christopher Okpala of the Akwaeze community, commended Governor Soludo for prioritizing the youth in his administration. The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba, outlined the extensive array of youth-oriented activities planned by the Soludo-led administration, covering empowerment, sports, skill development, and job creation.
The convener of the event, Dr. Tochukwu Obiadi, the state APGA Youth Leader, highlighted the purpose of the gathering, aimed at engaging with the governor and expressing support for his visionary leadership. Anambra’s youth are eager to back the current administration due to its achievements and commitment to purpose-driven governance.
Notable speakers at the event, including representatives from the National Association of Nigerian Students, SUG Presidents from higher institutions in Anambra State, ASATU Youth National President, Comrade Ken Okoli, and Ohanaeze youth leadership, voiced their solidarity with Governor Soludo’s leadership.
The gathering was attended by Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Chief of Staff to the Governor Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, and several members of the state House of Assembly.
