The announcement was made on Sunday during the grand opening of “Anchor Restaurant,” an Afro-Asian culinary venture in Lagos, which further demonstrates the continuous growth and commitment of the Indian community to Nigeria’s economy.

Kern expressed his delight at the Indian community’s success in Nigeria and emphasized the importance of maintaining this success. He pointed out that Indian investors have played a substantial role in providing employment opportunities for Nigerian youth, even going as far as being declared the second-largest employer in the country, following the Federal Government.

The Consul General applauded the founder of the restaurant for his significant investment in the Nigerian hospitality industry. He encouraged the public to visit “Anchor Restaurant,” which offers a diverse range of African, Asian, and continental cuisines. The restaurant’s ambiance, beautifully decorated and painted in coastal blue, is designed to captivate visitors.

Kern extended his best wishes to the restaurant’s founder and urged everyone to experience the rich tapestry of flavors offered at the establishment. He encouraged Indians to continue being positive ambassadors of their nation through their conduct.

Shri N Mahesh, the Head of Chancery in Lagos, joined in congratulating the restaurant’s founder, expressing confidence in the venture’s success and offering his best wishes.

Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, a friend of the founder, also extended his congratulations and encouraged further expansion in the hospitality industry.

Mohan Kaki, the founder of Anchor Restaurant, shared his vision and the journey behind this new venture. He noted that this was his fifth restaurant in Nigeria, with four others in Abeokuta and Ibadan. The decision to name the Lagos restaurant “Anchor Restaurant” was to reflect its coastal location.

Kaki emphasized that the restaurant aims to cater to the culinary preferences of Africans, Asians, and individuals from diverse backgrounds. With a focus on African, Asian, and international cuisines, the restaurant provides an inviting atmosphere for individuals seeking unique dining experiences.

“We have available here, Nigerian local cuisines like Edikang Ikong, Gbegiri, Efo-riro, Okro, Oha, White soup, Ground-nut soup, Eba, Pounded yam and all. We also have continental cuisines as well as cuisines for the Southern Indians who love it hot and spicy and the Northern Indians who love it creamier,” Kaki explained.

He further revealed plans for continued expansion, aiming to establish up to six branches in Lagos by the end of the next year.
