A recent security alert issued by the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, warning American citizens about potential threats targeting major hotels in Abuja, hotels in the capital city have taken immediate steps to bolster the safety and security of their guests.
The U.S. embassy’s advisory stressed the importance of increased vigilance and urged American citizens to exercise caution while taking appropriate measures to ensure their safety.
Federal security agencies are actively involved in addressing these threats, focusing on gathering intelligence, conducting investigations, and enhancing security measures at hotels across the country.
Nevertheless, the embassy advised U.S. citizens to remain informed about the local security situation and adhere to the guidance provided by Nigerian authorities.
Representatives of Apartment 1010 and Guaranty Hotel underscored their commitment to guest safety and affirmed that they have put in place necessary precautions.
These precautionary measures aim to establish a secure environment for both local and international visitors.
A manager from Apartment 1010 stated, “We place a high priority on our guests’ security. We’ve already implemented enhanced security measures, including an increased security presence, stringent access control, and regular security drills.”
Similarly, Mr. Godwin Pius, a representative of Guaranty Hotel, mentioned, “The safety and well-being of our guests are our top concerns. We’ve intensified our security protocols and are collaborating closely with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a secure environment within our premises.”
Both hotels reported full bookings over the weekend, reflecting the continued trust of their guests in the measures taken to address security concerns.
They advised guests to remain vigilant, report any suspicious activities, and adhere to the guidance provided by hotel staff and local authorities.
Visits to Johnwood Hotel in Wuse Zone 5 and Bolton White in Garki Area 11 revealed no apparent tension or disruption.
