Army, Police Rescue Kidnapped NYSC Members in Katsina

The troops of the 17 Brigade, Nigerian Army, collaborated with the Nigeria Police to rescue two members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who had been kidnapped by bandits in the Yargoje hamlet, Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State. This effort was officially confirmed on Friday by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations.

The two NYSC members, who had been abducted while traveling from Edo to Katsina State, were safely rescued on Thursday, November 2, 2023. Following their rescue, they received the necessary medical attention and support to ensure their physical and emotional well-being. Currently, they are under the care and custody of the Nigerian Police in Kankara.

The statement issued by the Army emphasized the ongoing commitment of the Nigerian Army to collaborate with other security agencies to address the threats posed by criminal elements in the country. The Army also appealed to the public to continue providing timely and relevant information to support the proactive engagement of troops in combating such security challenges.
