Four victims of bandit kidnappings on Bangi Hill in the Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi were successfully rescued on November 1, 2023, thanks to a concerted operation by the Nigerian Army and local vigilantes. The operation was commanded by troops from the 1 Battalion Dukku Barrack in Birnin Kebbi, who successfully dislodged a large number of bandits and ensured the safe return of the kidnapped victims.
The rescued individuals have been identified as follows: Malam Audu Fulani, aged 45; Umaru Wakili, aged 14; Alhaji Malam Imam, aged 50; and Chaggo Garba, aged 19.
This noteworthy achievement underlines the continuous commitment of security agencies within the state, who are reinforced by additional logistical support from the state’s governor. Their relentless efforts aim to combat criminal activities, strengthen security measures, and provide much-needed relief to the local community.
The state authorities also extend their commendation to the dedicated troops involved in addressing security challenges in Kebbi state.
