Actress and singer, Mercy Isoyip, widely recognized as Descushiel, issued a heartfelt apology after a memorable but regrettable incident in which she forgot the lyrics while singing the national anthem at an event in Imo State. The occasion, the Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers in Imo State on October 30th, 2023, placed Descushiel in the spotlight as she was entrusted with reciting the national anthem.
During the event, onlookers were taken aback as Descushiel struggled with the lyrics, rendering the national anthem incorrectly. This incident left many astonished.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Mercy Isoyip, also known as Descushiel, took to the public on October 31st, 2023, to extend her sincere apologies to the nation. Isoyip went on to clarify that the Nigeria Police offered her the opportunity to lead the national anthem as a means to showcase her talent in the entertainment industry and to highlight the collaborative and amicable relationship that exists between the police force and citizens.
