President Bola Tinubu has expressed his profound appreciation for the recent judgment delivered by Judge Robin Knowles of the Business and Property Court in London, which granted a momentous victory to the Federal Government of Nigeria in its legal battle against Process & Industrial Development (P&ID) Limited.

The judgment, which nullified the $11.5 billion (USD) award and the accrued interest previously granted to P&ID, arises from a disputed 2010 deal to purportedly construct a gas processing plant. Judge Knowles based his decision on the assertion that the award had been secured through fraudulent means. President Tinubu commended the UK Court for its unwavering commitment to justice and for prioritizing the merits of the case above all else.

In his statement, signed by his spokesperson Chief Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu declared, “This landmark judgment unequivocally establishes that sovereign nations will no longer be held captive by economic conspiracies involving private entities and corrupt officials, who collude to extort and indebting the very nations they are sworn to serve and protect.”

He further emphasized that this victory extends beyond Nigeria, signifying a triumph for a continent that has long endured economic exploitation and injustice, as well as for the broader developing world.

President Tinubu also conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to the legal defense team and recognized the instrumental role played by the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Office of the Attorney-General in safeguarding Nigeria’s interests throughout this pivotal case.
