Police operatives of Enugu State Police division in collaboration with members of the state vigilant Group, have silenced a suspected member of the Eastern Security Network, the armed and dangerous wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
The security personnel also recovered his firearm and ammunition with other exhibits.
The police made this known in a statement issued on Sunday night which was signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe.
The suspect according to Ndukwe, was killed on Saturday at about 10:45 pm in Igbele village by Amachala road in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, when the victim and his group opened fire on the security personnel.
The police boss said they were able to achieve this following what he described as the new policing strategies originating from the state Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, to rid the state of chronic criminals.
He said the operatives involved in the operation are from Igbo-Eze North Police Division of the Command and the NPF Special Forces
