The Atiku Media Team has issued a challenge to President Bola Tinubu and his team, urging them to address the numerous controversies surrounding alleged forgeries and discrepancies in an effort to preserve Nigeria’s image.

During a press conference in Abuja, Media Adviser to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Mazi Paul Ibe, flanked by two colleagues, presented this challenge. He noted that President Tinubu’s team appeared preoccupied with what he considered an insignificant alleged discrepancy in the day and date on an affidavit deposed to by Atiku over 50 years ago to officially change his name.

Ibe remarked, “Since the discovery of documents from Chicago State University that revealed a series of certificate forgeries and impersonation by President Bola A. Tinubu, many of his media aides have attempted to divert attention by creating an alternative narrative regarding the public life of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.”

He continued, “It was evident from the outset that the media aides and supporters of Bola A. Tinubu were grasping at straws in Atiku Abubakar’s public profile until they found an item they could exploit.”

Ibe characterized their efforts as a fruitless endeavor, likening it to a restless soul on a futile journey. He mentioned that they eventually seized on the fact that Atiku Abubakar’s affidavit, signed on August 18, 1973, officially changing his name to Atiku Abubakar, was signed on a Saturday.

In their view, this discovery was significant, as it was an opportunity to divert attention from the controversies surrounding President Tinubu. Ibe highlighted the fact that President Tinubu’s name was discovered to belong to a female, that he allegedly submitted a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission, and that he was the first student to test the Government College Lagos four years before its establishment.

Ibe stressed that, for Atiku’s team, the focus should be on addressing these issues rather than picking holes in Atiku Abubakar’s public profile.
