See Why FG Is Closing Third Mainland Bridge This Weekend

The Federal Government has declared that Lagos’ Third Mainland Bridge will temporarily close from midnight on Saturday, October 21, to midnight on Sunday, October 22, to perform essential repair work. The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Olukorede Kesha, confirmed that this is part of the government’s plan to carry out comprehensive repairs on the bridge.

She stated, “However, in order to alleviate the pains currently being experienced on the bridge, the ministry would be carrying out palliative works on the most critically failed sections along the Adeniji bound carriageway on Sunday, October 22, preparatory to the comprehensive repair works.”

Additionally, she advised motorists to cooperate with traffic management officials by following diversions and alternative routes for smooth traffic flow. She emphasized, “However, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible during the period of the palliative works as the Adeniji bound of the bridge will be closed to traffic from Saturday, October 21, to Sunday, October 22, 12.00 midnight.”
