Dr. Betta Edu, Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, held a strategic meeting with the Ambassador of Morocco, His Excellency Ou Ali Tagma.
During the courtesy visit to her office in Abuja, the Ambassador pledged Morocco’s unwavering support in providing durable solutions to individuals affected by humanitarian crises in Nigeria and working alongside the government to combat poverty.
Ambassador Tagma noted that Morocco’s King, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is recognized as the “king for the poor.” He expressed Morocco’s openness to collaboration with Nigeria, aiming to jointly address poverty-related challenges.
Dr. Betta Edu emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration across Africa to eliminate poverty. During the discussions, both parties identified key areas for cooperation, with a focus on poverty eradication. Additionally, they delved into matters concerning migration and youth empowerment, recognizing the significance of addressing these issues for the well-being of the people and the development of both nations.
