President Xi Jinping of China has announced a commitment to provide financial support for the completion of the Abuja-Kano and Port-Harcourt-Maiduguri railway projects.
This announcement was made during a meeting with Nigeria’s Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima, held on the sidelines of the Belt and Road Initiative forum in Beijing, China.
The statement, issued by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Vice President, highlights concerns about funding delays in the projects and the Chinese government’s pledge to ensure their successful completion.
