The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ruled to nullify the election of Senator Ishaku Abbo, the current representative of Adamawa North Senatorial District in the National Assembly. The court’s decision favors the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amos Yohanna.

This verdict overturns Senator Abbo’s re-election victory in the National Assembly election held on February 25, 2023, and positions Amos Yohanna as the new senator-elect for Adamawa North Senatorial District.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had initially declared Senator Abbo as the winner, with Yohanna coming second. However, this latest legal ruling has reshaped the electoral outcome, creating a significant shift in the political landscape of the region.
