Nigeria is advancing its digital economy and technological innovation, and the President, Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of new and returning Chief Executives to head various agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. These appointments signal a clear commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s digital potential and enhancing financial inclusion.
The Appointments:
• Aminu Maida is appointed as the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
• Nkechi Egerton-Idehen takes the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) at the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).
• Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi is designated as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer (DG/CEO) of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
• Dr. Vincent Olatunji assumes the position of National Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer (National Data Protection Commission) (NDPC).
• Tola Odeyemi is entrusted with the role of Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer at the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).
Moreover, President Tinubu has appointed Idris Alubankudi as the Special Adviser to the President of Technology and Digital Economy, reflecting the government’s commitment to leveraging Nigeria’s technological and digital strength for economic growth.
