Renowned Nigerian music artist Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has made serious allegations against personnel from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He claims that the EFCC illegally raided his home at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, prompting concerns for the safety of his family.
In a series of posts shared on his X account (formerly Twitter), the singer recounted the harrowing experience, revealing that EFCC agents arrived at his house while he was with his six-month-old daughter and other family members. According to Skales, the agency’s personnel went as far as assaulting his producer.
In his detailed account, Skales expressed his shock at the intrusion into his home, where he, his infant daughter, and other family members were present. He stated, “Imagine these people pulling up like this to a room where my 6-month-old and my daughter and her were sleeping. They destroyed my back door.”
Skales also claimed that one of the EFCC personnel named Femi later threatened him over the outburst on social media, implying that they could falsely implicate him in something. He explained that the outburst was a reaction to the unprofessional manner in which they entered his home at such an early hour while his family was sleeping.
The artist further clarified that neither he nor his family members were arrested because nothing illegal was found on their persons. The EFCC allegedly confiscated phones from two individuals who had come to work on music with Skales. He expressed concern for his daughter’s well-being amid the ordeal.
