Tinubu Appoints Fela Durotoye, Others to Presidential Media Advisory Team

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of new faces to the Presidential Media Advisory Team, emphasizing the necessity of upholding Nigeria’s federal character principle and encouraging meritocracy in the nation’s leadership.

 

These appointments are a strategic move aimed at improving the government’s communication and interaction with the Nigerian people. President Tinubu has placed a high value on the talents, devotion, and diversity of the persons chosen to serve these crucial positions.

 

The newly appointed members and their respective responsibilities within the team are as follows:

 

Mr. Fela Durotoye – Appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for National Values & Social Justice. His role will focus on upholding Nigeria’s core values and fostering social justice.

 

Mr. Fredrick Nwabufo – Appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for Public Engagement, charged with facilitating robust interactions between the government and the public.

 

Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe – Appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Communications, with a mandate to streamline and enhance the government’s messaging and strategic communications efforts.

 

Mr. Aliyu Audu – Designated as the Special Assistant to the President for Public Affairs, tasked with handling public relations and communication matters.

 

Mr. Francis Adah Abah – Appointed as the Personal Assistant to the President for Special Duties, a role encompassing various specialized responsibilities.

 

In addition to these appointments, President Tinubu has granted approval for the secondment of Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe to serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission. This demonstrates Nigeria’s commitment to playing a significant role in regional affairs and fostering stronger ties within the ECOWAS community.

 

President Tinubu has emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of decorum and civility in all interactions with the public. He has charged the newly appointed members of the Media & Publicity directorate with the crucial task of advancing his determined efforts to rekindle hope among Nigerians, drive economic restructuring, and promote national unity that accommodates the diverse needs of the nation’s population.
