The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has reached out to the Department of State Services (DSS) for cooperation in the ongoing investigation of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) Sex Scandal, which centers around Professor Cyril NDIFON, the former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the institution.
In a statement issued by Dr. Peter Afunanya, the Director of Public Relations & Strategic Communications of DSS, it was revealed that NDIFON had consistently refused to respond to several invitations from the ICPC. Consequently, on October 4th, 2023, the ICPC, armed with a court order, arrested NDIFON in Calabar, Cross River State.
In the spirit of interagency collaboration and in response to the Commission’s request, the Department of State Services provided support to ensure the success of the operation.
This statement aims to provide clarity and inform the public about the latest developments in this matter, emphasizing the commitment of both agencies to the thorough investigation of the UNICAL Sex Scandal involving Professor Cyril NDIFON.
