U.S. Judge Nancy Maldonado has delivered a decisive ruling against President Bola Tinubu’s objections, which had sought to prevent the release of his academic records from Chicago State University (CSU) on the grounds of causing severe and irreparable harm.
In a succinct ruling issued on Saturday, the Judge has directed CSU to release Tinubu’s academic records to his Nigerian political opponent, Atiku Abubakar, by Monday, October 2. Judge Maldonado firmly warned that any request for a stay of her judgement from Tinubu would be denied. However, she clarified that he retains the option to appeal her decision at the Seventh Circuit Court.
Furthermore, the Judge acknowledged the substantial public interest in the case, noting that numerous Nigerians had contacted her via email, seeking updates on the proceedings.
