Gunmen conducted a savage attack on the Takanai Gora hamlet in Kaduna State’s Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake. The tragedy, which occurred on Tuesday night, resulted in the terrible deaths of six people, with another six sustaining critical injuries.

According to a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Chairman of Zangon Kataf, Yabo Chris Ephraim, the victims of this heart-wrenching attack were laid to rest on Wednesday morning. The local government chairman, Francis Sani, presided over the somber ceremony, condemning the act of violence in the strongest terms. Chairman Sani appealed to the grief-stricken community for calm, urging its inhabitants to turn away from the path of needless violence and embrace the solace of peace.

The victims of this cruel assault have been identified as Sarah Adamu, Rejoice Adamu, Enoch Adamu, Juan Aminu, Salomi Aminu, and Meshak Aminu. Their names serve as a painful reminder of the toll that violence can exact on innocent lives.

Among the injured survivors are Kubai Adamu, Judith Adamu, Abigail Adamu, Dennis Joseph, Grace Bitrus, and Adamu Ibrahim. Their resilience and determination to recover stand as a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to endure even the darkest of times.

Sadly, the tragedy did not end with the assault on Takanai Gora. In a separate incident, one person lost their life, and three others sustained injuries during an attack on Kwankwami village in Gadar Gayan, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Additionally, the assailants kidnapped an individual named Mukailu, further escalating the distressing situation.

ASP Mansir Hassan, the Police Public Relations Officer, has promised to provide more information; but, as of the time of this report, no further information had been received.
