The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the completion of the autopsy procedure for the late Nigerian music talent, Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad. The NPF has also assured the public of further updates regarding the autopsy results.
In a concise statement shared on their social media platform, the NPF stated, “Mohbad: Autopsy Update. The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr. Mohbad has been successfully completed. Further information will be provided as soon as the results are available.”
This announcement comes in the wake of the exhumation of Mohbad’s body by the Nigerian police, marking a significant step towards unraveling the circumstances surrounding the budding singer’s untimely demise. His death had ignited nationwide outrage, prompting demands from both Nigerians at home and abroad for explanations from the authorities.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was unexpectedly buried the following day, deviating from the customary rites usually observed for deceased celebrities of his stature. Videos highlighting his alleged harassment and mistreatment at the hands of his former record label surfaced online, raising suspicions of foul play.
In one of these videos, Mohbad had expressed his wish that Nigerians hold his former boss, Naira Marley, accountable if anything were to happen to him. Despite explanations from the late singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, who cited Yoruba customs for the swift burial, public insistence on conducting an autopsy and investigation persisted to determine the exact cause of his death.
In response, the Nigerian police initiated an investigative team to delve into the matter and seek answers surrounding the tragic demise of Mohbad.
