The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has made significant arrests, detaining no less than 124 suspects across various parts of the territory. These raids were executed between Sunday and Tuesday, targeting locations such as Kabusa, Karshi, Nyanya, Dutse Alhaji, Mpape, Iddo, and Utako, among others.
Responding to inquiries about these operations, SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police, revealed that both day and night raids have been carried out at key flashpoints throughout the territory. This initiative represents a determined effort by the police to rid the area of criminal elements.
Providing a detailed breakdown of the suspects apprehended, Adeh disclosed that a total of 124 individuals have been taken into custody from various black spots during the ongoing operations. She emphasized that these suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation processes, with the intention of subsequently charging them in court.
Adeh stated, “So far, we have arrested about 124 individuals. On Sunday, 37 were apprehended in Iddo, Utako, Mpape, and Nyanya, where dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were seized. On Monday, 46 suspects were arrested at criminal hotspots in Kabusa, Karshi, and Nyanya. On Tuesday, 41 suspects were detained in Dutse Alhaji, Kabusa, Nyanya, and Mpape.”
The goal is to ensure that justice is served through legal proceedings following thorough investigation.
