Nollywood Actress Iyabo Ojo Leads Peaceful Protest Demanding Justice for Mohbad’s Unsolved Death

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo and numerous other famous individuals gathered at the Lagos State House of Assembly for a peaceful demonstration calling for justice in the case of late singer Ireoluwa Aloba, commonly known as Mohbad.

 

She addressed lawmakers at the Assembly complex on Wednesday, emphasizing the group’s mission to seek justice for Mohbad. The musician, formerly associated with Marlian Records, tragically passed away on September 12, prompting calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.

 

The protesters held placards bearing powerful slogans such as “Justice for Mohbad,” “Who killed Mohbad?” “No more Marlian,” and “Too young to go at 27,” among others, expressing their demand for transparency and accountability.

 

She stressed that Nigerians were united in their call for justice regarding the untimely death of the talented singer, acknowledging the ongoing investigation by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and reiterating the need for justice to prevail.

 

Addressing the protesters, Deputy Majority Leader Adedamola Kasunmu expressed gratitude for their peaceful demonstration and assured them that their plea would be presented before the House. He also highlighted the recent discussions in the House regarding the tragic passing of another individual, Master Adebola Bright, and pledged that the law would take its course in both cases.

 

Members of the House, including Sylvester Ogunkelu, Ajani Owolabi, and Rasheed Shabi, were present to receive the protesters, demonstrating their commitment to addressing the concerns surrounding Mohbad’s unfortunate death.
