President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session on Tuesday. Dr. Edu provided the Ministry’s detailed pitch deck and action plan with President Tinubu, providing significant insights into the nation’s approach for attaining its SDG targets. She also provided a resource mobilization advocacy tool, which is an important component of Nigeria’s efforts to achieve the SDGs. These meetings were held in preparation for President Tinubu’s address to the United Nations General Assembly on September 19, 2023, during which he will outline Nigeria’s commitment to the SDGs.
Following the SDG Summit, Minister Betta Edu held a high-level meeting with Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, at the United Nations Headquarters.
