President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has named Mr. Zacchaeus Adedeji as Acting Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS). This nomination demonstrates President Tinubu’s dedication to preserving the agency’s critical function in generating money and upholding fiscal responsibility.
Adedeji, 45, succeeds Muhammad Mamman Nami, who will be forced to retire in December 2023.
The new appointee was the 5th substantive Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).
Until his appointment, Adedeji was the Special Adviser to Tinubu on Revenue and was also Commissioner for Finance in Oyo State from 2011 to 2015.
