The Coalition of Northern Socio-cultural Organisations, a significant northern group, has asked for the swift and thorough prosecution of those guilty for the unfortunate death of Alhaji Ahmed Gulak, a former political aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Gulak, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain who was shot dead by gunmen on his way back to Abuja from Owerri, Imo State’s capital, on May 30, 2021, was the chairman of the APC committee that organised the Imo governorship primaries.
The group demanded that Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma prosecute the suspected murderers within seven days.
Hajiya Zira Kwada Gulak, the group’s National Coordinator, told journalists in Abuja that the organisation was astonished and disappointed by Uzodinma’s lukewarm approach towards the suspects’ speedy arraignment in court.
As a close friend of Gulak’s and a beneficiary of his political apparatus, Uzodinma, according to Hajiya Zira, ought to have led the charge in the fight to have the detained suspects face the full force of the law in court.
