As part of efforts to improve the nation’s capital’s infrastructure and road network, Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced intentions to begin the repair of Abuja roads on September 11.
The minister added in a statement issued by Anthony Ogunleye, the director of press affairs in his office, that the resurfacing project will include 135 roads in the districts of Garki, Wuse, Gwarimpa, and Maitama.
Wike stressed the significance of establishing a more favorable and accessible road network for locals and visitors alike.
The project is intended to include several areas of road rehabilitation, such as resurfacing, repairs, and maintenance work.
The flag-off event will take place along Ladoke Akintola Boulevard in Garki II, Abuja, according to the announcement.
“This will be the first major infrastructure development project of the minister who has expressed determination to ensure rapid infrastructure development of the nation’s capital. The flag-off event will take place at 2:00pm,” he stated.
