POLICE NAB SUSPECTS ALLEGEDLY LINKED WITH MURDER OF NAVAL OFFICER IN ONDO

Three suspects allegedly linked to the murder of a naval officer in Idoani community of Ose Local Government Area of the state have been apprehended by operatives of the Ondo State Police Command.

The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Fumilayo Omisanya who made the disclosure said the suspects were apprehended in different parts of the community following their attempts to escape shortly after the crime.

He added that three others who were involved in the murder are still being tracked by the police.

“However, I can assure you that they will also be arrested and held accountable for their actions,” Omisanya said.

The naval officer was killed when he was struck with an iron rod by the suspects following a dispute with a commercial motorcyclist.

A group of six persons murdered the naval officer attached to the Navy School in Imeri, and in response, a significant number of military personnel arrived in the community to arrest the individuals involved in the officer’s death.

As a resuly, some young men have fled the area fearing arrest, while other residents were concerned about possible reprisals from the deceased officer’s comrades.
