NSCDC Applaud Voters Over Peaceful Conduct Of Polls

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has commended residents of Ondo State for their peaceful and orderly conduct during the House of Assembly election held on Saturday.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mrs Stella Oladeye, Assistant Commandant General (ACG), NSCDC, Abuja, said that the state deserved commendation for the peaceful  conduct during the election.

Oladeye said that the people of Ondo State comported themselves well and showed that the election was not a do or die affair.

She also commended security agencies in the state for their roles in ensuring that the election was peaceful.

“Judging by the places visited so far, the election has been peaceful and the turnout is not too low, especially in Idanre Local Government Area, if compared with the people of Akure.

“And I believed that the peace recorded was achieved through the gallant efforts of our men and other security agencies in the state,” she said.

The ACG NSCDC assured the people of Ondo state that their lives and properties were safe during and after the election.

Oladeye, who charged the people of Ondo State not to entertain any fear  or allow anybody to intimidate them, said that their votes was their power, right and voices.

“Be calm. I know that your security is guaranteed because security agencies are on ground, and after the election there will be no violence whatsoever across the state,” she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria NAN reports that the ACG was in Ondo State for election monitoring with the state commandant, Olatundun Olayinka, and some senior officers of the state command.
