Keyamo At Valedictory Faults Appointment of Junior Minister
Outgoing Minister of State for Labour and Employment in Nigeria, Festus Keyamo, SAN has declared that the appointment of a Minister of State is unconstitutional and an aberration.
During his valedictory speech, Keyamo cited portions of the constitution to buttress his point and explained that his observation is not out of ingratitude, but to contribute to the nation’s constitutional development.
Keyamo noted that it is difficult to assess the individual performances of Ministers of State since their discretion is limited by Ministries and other colleagues in cabinet.
President Muhammadu Buhari expressed gratitude to his ministers at the valedictory session and urged them to tidy up their work before handing over to the incoming administration.
