BREAKING: Military Wares, Foreign Currencies Seized In Mamu's Home, Office - DSS

The Department of State Services, DSS, Thursday evening confirmed recovering incriminating materials during the search carried out on the residence and office of Mallam Tukur Mamu.
Mamu, the negotiator between the Federal Government and terrorists responsible for the March killings and abduction of passengers on the Abuja -Kaduna train, was taken to the DSS custody on Wednesday.
He was arrested in Cairo, the Egyptian capital on his way to Saudi Arabia where he was said to be headed to perform the lesser Hajj on Tuesday.
Giving an update on Mamu through a statement titled "Update on Tukur Mamu", and signed by the Public Relations Officer of the secret police, Dr. Peter Afunaya, the DSS said it recovered "incriminating materials which include military accoutrements".
Other items seized during the search by the DSS, according to the statement, include different currencies and denominations, as well as financial transactions instruments.
"So far, appropriate security agencies have executed valid search warrants on Mamu’s residence and office. During the processes, incriminating materials including military accoutrements were recovered.
"Other items include large amounts in different currencies and denominations as well as financial transaction instruments," the statement read.
The DSS Spokesman said while further investigations continue, "Mamu will, sure, have a day in court."
