Xmas: Police Ban Fireworks in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command hash placed a ban on the use of fireworks during the Christmas and New Year periods.

Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Mr. Ayuba Ekpeji, disclosed the ban order while briefing senior officers at the command headquarters, earlier today in Lokoja.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), William Aya, said the CP urged parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to stay off knockouts and bazookers as policemen across the state had been directed to arrest anyone who flout the order.

He also directed the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, as well as Operational Commanders to review their crime-fighting strategies and increase the visibility of policemen to ensure a peaceful Yuletide in Kogi State.

He assured members of the public that the police in Accord with sister security agencies in the state are putting all efforts into assuring peaceful Yuletide for the citizenry.
