A former minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has blasted the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and its Governor, Godwin Emefiele, for freezing the bank accounts of #EndSARS protesters.
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday granted the request of the CBN to freeze the bank accounts of 19 individuals and a company linked to the #EndSARS protest
Responding to the development in a Twitter post on Saturday, Ezekwesili, who is also the co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls movement, described the involvement of the CBN and Emefiele as “low”
The former minister questioned why the apex bank and its governor involved itself in such a matter, which is one of the democratic tenets globally.
She insisted such that action by the CBN will not end well
