The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammad will today swear-in Justice Salisu Garba as the acting Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Director of Information, National Judicial Council (NJC) Soji Oye, who disclosed this in a statement released late yesterday, clarified Justice Garba’s swearing-in would take place at the Supreme Court, Abuja by 2pm.
President Muhammadu Buhari had approved Justice Garba's appointment as Acting Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory.
This followed the retirement of Hon. Justice Ishaq Usman Bello on same day.
Garba will function in acting capacity, pending the confirmation of his appointment by the Senate as substantive Chief Judge.
