President Muhammadu Buhari has described retired General Abdullahi Bagudu Mamman as one with strong sense of duty and service to the nation.
The President, while rejoicing with Etsu Nyaba at attainment of 80 years noted, that the retired Army Commander distinguished himself as a courageous and dependable military officer throughout the length of his career.
In a statement on Tuesday by, Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari offered best wishes to the former member of the defunct Armed Forces Ruling Council and erstwhile Minister of Internal Affairs, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
"The President recognises Gen. AB Mamman’s strong sense of duty and service to Nigeria throughout the length of his career as a military officer, distinguishing himself as a courageous and dependable commander at various levels, from troop and brigade Commander, to Commander, Corps of Artillery and Commandant, Command and Staff College, Jaji.
"As the Etsu Nyaba Chiefdom in Niger State, President Buhari applauds the elder statesman for bringing his many years of experience as a military officer, businessman and administrator to bear in handling the affairs of his community, working tirelessly to promote peace, prosperity and social cohesion.
"The President prays God almighty to bless the traditional ruler with more years of health and happiness," the statement read.
The monarch turned 80 on Wednesday, July 21, 2021.
