The Federal Capital Territory alongside seven other states have recorded 365 new COVID-19 cases of on Sunday, according to figures released on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The agency also reported that eight persons died from the infections, according to report on the NCDC website on Monday.
According to the agency, the 365 new cases were recorded from the FCT and seven other states.
Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 209 cases, Ondo – 88, FCT – 31, Rivers – 16, Ebonyi – 11, Kaduna – 6, Ekiti – 3 while Plateau reported one new infection.
The health agency said the 365 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 199, 151
However, 186,416 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With eight COVID-19 related deaths reported, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,598, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
