Bolt, the ride-hailing service, has announced the suspension of 5,000 drivers in Nigeria as part of a comprehensive safety overhaul. Yahaya Mohammed, the country manager, disclosed this during a press conference held in Lagos.<\/p>\n

The primary objective behind this mass suspension is to address customer insecurity and harassment issues. In an effort to enhance security standards on the platform, Bolt is focusing on the safety of both passengers and drivers.<\/p>\n

To reinforce safety features, introduce advanced reporting mechanisms, and conduct awareness programs for drivers and riders, Bolt has allocated over N20 million ($24,922.12).<\/p>\n

The country manager emphasized that strict compliance procedures are being implemented to enforce safety standards, with prompt sanctions, including permanent suspension, for those who fail to comply.<\/p>\n

In its commitment to ensuring the safety of all users, Bolt has launched a campaign to raise awareness about new safety features. These include the ability to share locations with loved ones and an SOS option that can be used when a client feels endangered.<\/p>\n
