Former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Osita Chidoka, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its responsiveness in granting him access to voter accreditation data for the November 11 governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi. Chidoka expressed his appreciation on his verified social media account, X, after making a request to INEC through the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act.<\/p>\n

The ex-Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) praised INEC for its cooperation, hailing the move as a significant step toward transparent and accountable governance. In a statement, Chidoka emphasized the importance of the INEC’s unprecedented compliance with his FOI request, highlighting the positive impact of persistent efforts and the courage to explore uncharted territories.<\/p>\n

Chidoka stated, \u201cToday marks a significant milestone in our pursuit of transparent and accountable governance. With gratitude and a sense of national pride, I announce that INEC has complied with my Freedom of Information request, providing the BVAS report of voter accreditation for the recent Governorship elections in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Expressing optimism about the future, Chidoka underscored the compliance’s significance in holding government agencies accountable and ensuring transparency. He revealed that the BVAS report was received in hard copy, accompanied by a certificate complying with section 84 of the Evidence Act (2011).<\/p>\n

Chidoka concluded by sharing his commitment to continuing the journey toward a more democratic and transparent governance system. He pledged to share insights from the report with fellow citizens, fostering enlightenment and contributing to a future where the electoral process genuinely reflects the will of the people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
